Jefferson City Host Lions
About Us
All proceeds are used for the Lions local sight and hearing projects.

The Jefferson City Host Lions Club has an active ongoing program of collecting eyeglasses and hearing aids.

Each spring, the Jefferson City Host Lions sell salted-in-the-shell peanuts at various locations throughout the Capitol City.

Support the Sight Impaired
In response to Helen Keller's request that the Lions become "Knights of the Blind", the Host Lions Club supports members of the Jefferson City Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Missouri.

This support entails club members volunteering to drive members of the local chapter of the NFB to their monthly meeting.

The Host Lions Club also supports members of the NFB by participating in their annual Walk for Independence Walkathon. This yearly event is normally held the second Sunday in October at McKay Park in Jefferson City from 2:00-5:00 pm. For more information on the walkathon, call 573 634-3865.

The Host Lions Club also provides free eye exams and eyeglasses to the needy in the Jefferson City, MO area who meet specific financial requirements.
